A delegation from Indiana University Journalism School, led by Professor Lars Willnat, visited the Tsinghua University School of Journalism and Communication on March 12 and participated in a class led by Professor Lee J. Miller in the Global Sources Hall.
During the class, "Business News Data Mining and Analysis," Professor Miller encouraged the students to interview their counterparts from the other country on food preferences and eating habits, a form of data mining. In a lively speed-dating format, each student interviewed 10 students from the other country and had to write about what they learned. At the end of the class, Students of both sides exchanged souvenirs and took photos together.
After class Professor SHI Anbin, Deputy Dean of the TSJC met with Professor Lars Willnat.
The main purpose for the Indiana University delegation to China is to learn about Chinese Media culture, to reinforce communication with Chinese media editors. They also visited China Daily and Xinhua News Agency.
